Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced a 1.5% increase in the number of sold homes for the first 11 months of 2020 compared to 2019 and a 8.7% increase in the median sales price from $239,000 to $259,900. The number of homes that went under contract in the 1st eleven months of 2020 increased 2.5% from 2019.

Kent County, DE

For the 1st eleven months of 2020, Kent County experienced an 12.0% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2019 and a 7.6% increase in the median sales price from $225,000 to $242,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 11 months of 2020 increased 16.7% from 2019.

Sussex County, DE

For the first 11 months of 2020, Sussex County experienced an 21.8% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2019 and a 11.2% increase in the median sales price from $290,000 to $322,540. The number of homes that went under contract in the 1st eleven months of 2020 increased 24.5% from 2019.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 13.8% increase in the number of sold homes in the 1st eleven months of 2020 compared to 2019 and a 7.6% increase in the median price of sold homes, from $385,622 to $415,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 11 months of 2020 increased 14.8% from 2019.

Cecil County, MD

For the first 11 months of 2020, Cecil County experienced a 10.0% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2019 and an increase in the median sales price of 11.8%; from $230,000 to $257,242. The number of homes that went under contract in the 1st eleven months of 2020 increased 7.3% from 2019.
